INVITATION FOR BID (IFB)
PONDSIDE ROAD RESURFACING AND CULVERT REPLACEMENT PROJECT
The Town of Longmeadow is soliciting bids for the Pondside Road Resurfacing and Culvert Replacement Project. The bid package is available from the Longmeadow Purchasing Department (Phone: 413-565-4185, email: cthompson@longmeadow.org). Sealed bids shall be mailed or delivered to: Town of Longmeadow, Purchasing Department, Attn: Chad Thompson, 735 Longmeadow Street, Suite 101, Longmeadow, MA 01106. Sealed bids delivered shall be labeled “IFB: Pondside Road Resurfacing and Culvert Replacement Project” followed by the complete contact information of the bidder. Sealed Bids will be received until the bid deadline of Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at 2:00 PM. There will be no onsite public gathering for the bid opening. The public bid opening will be facilitated through Zoom.com only beginning at 2:30 PM on the same day as the bid deadline. The zoom bid opening will be recorded. Access information for the zoom bid opening will be supplied with the IFB document. The work consists of: milling and overlay paving of portions of Pondside Road, Tina Lane and Birnie Road; reconstruction of a gravel roadway on a portion of Birnie Road; installation of a bituminous parking area at the intersection of Birnie Road and Woods Road; replacement of one existing 36-inch CMP culvert with 36-inch RCP culvert; and replacement of one existing 48-inch CMP culvert with 48-inch RCP culvert.
Bid documents are available from the Longmeadow Purchasing Department at no charge or they may be picked up. Bid documents may also be downloaded online from the Purchasing Department page of the town website www.longmeadow.org . Select the link labeled ‘Bids & RFPs’, then select ‘Bid & RFP Finder’ link to access bid documents. Bidders that access bid documents online are encouraged to register with the Purchasing Department to receive updates. Others are required to monitor bid postings linked to the Purchasing Department page prior to the bid deadline for additional information and issued addenda. Failure to acknowledge Addenda may result in a bid rejection.
MassDot prequalification is required. A bid deposit in the amount of five percent (5%) shall be included with the bid submission. Bid deposits shall be made payable to the “Town of Longmeadow” in the form of a bid bond, certified check, treasurer's check or cashier's check issued by a responsible bank or trust company. Performance and payment bonds in the full amount of the contract will be required upon Contract Award. All bids shall comply with minimum wage rates as set forth under Massachusetts General Law Chapter 149, Sections 26 to 27H.All bids for this project are subject to the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 30, Section 39M as amended. No Bid may be withdrawn within thirty (30) days after the date of the opening of bids.
The Town of Longmeadow, acting through the Town Manager, the Awarding Authority, reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive minor informalities, and to award the contract in the best interest of the Town. |
