MAGNOLIA CIRCLE DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT
The Town of Longmeadow is soliciting bids for the Magnolia Circle Drainage Improvements Project. The bid package is available from the Longmeadow Purchasing Department (Phone: 413-565-4185, email: cthompson@longmeadow.org). Sealed bids shall be mailed and delivered to: Town of Longmeadow, Purchasing Department, Attn: Chad Thompson, 735 Longmeadow Street, Suite 101, Longmeadow, MA 01106. Sealed bids delivered shall be label “IFB: Magnolia Circle Drainage Improvements Project” followed by the complete contact information of the bidder. Sealed Bids will be received until the bid deadline of Thursday, September 10, 2020 at 2:00 PM. Deliveries should be brought through the lower stairwell door located at the parking lot side of the building only, other doors will be locked. Bids received after the bid deadline will be rejected. There will be no onsite public gathering for the bid opening. The public bid opening will be facilitated through Zoom.com only beginning at 2:30PM on the same day as the bid deadline which will be recorded. The work consists of: the replacement of existing drain pipe with approximately 500 linear feet (LF) of 12-inch to 30-inch drain pipe, including catch basins, installation of one new drain manhole and concrete headwall at the outfall, and construction of a gravel access road for maintenance activities. Portions of the existing drain pipes are located in and off of the road on Magnolia Circle, and along an easement toward Longmeadow Brook. The Town intends for utility work and paving repair to be completed prior to a Winter 2020 shutdown, with site restoration to be completed in Spring 2021, if necessary
Bid documents are available from the Longmeadow Purchasing Department at no charge and will be mailed upon request (no onsite pickup). Bid documents may also be downloaded online from the Purchasing Department page of the town website www.longmeadow.org. Select the link labeled ‘Bids & RFPs’, then select ‘Bid & RFP Finder’ link to access bid documents. Bidders that access bid documents online are encouraged to register with the Purchasing Department to receive updates. Others are required to monitor bid postings linked to the Purchasing Department page prior to the bid deadline for additional information and issued addenda. Failure to acknowledge Addenda may result in a bid rejection.
A bid deposit in the amount of five percent (5%) shall be included with the bid submission. Bid deposits shall be made payable to the “Town of Longmeadow” in the form of a bid bond, certified check, treasurer's check or cashier's check issued by a responsible bank or trust company. Performance and payment bonds in the full amount of the contract will be required upon Contract Award. All bids shall comply with minimum wage rates as set forth under Massachusetts General Law Chapter 149, Sections 26 to 27H.
All bids for this project are subject to the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 30, Section 39M as amended. No Bid may be withdrawn within thirty (30) days after the date of the opening of bids.
The Town of Longmeadow, acting through the Town Manager, the Awarding Authority, reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive minor informalities, and to award the contract in the best interest of the Town. |
