INVITATION FOR BID (IFB)
CONVERSE STREET SEWER IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
The Town of Longmeadow invites sealed Bids for the proposed Converse Street Sewer Improvement Project. Sealed Bids will be received at the Town of Longmeadow, Purchasing Dept, Attn: Chad Thompson-Procurement Manager, 735 Longmeadow Street, Suite 101, Longmeadow, MA 01106 until the bid deadline of 2:00PM on Friday, May 21, 2021 per IFB Addendum No.1, (formerly Thursday, May 13, 2021). Late bids will be rejected. Following the bid deadline, bids will be remotely logged only through Zoom.com beginning at 2:30pm. The meeting will be recorded. The work consists of the removal and replacement of the sanitary sewer main, sewer manholes, sanitary service connections, and trench patch on Converse Street. Project completion shall be 30 calendar days from the date of the Notice to Proceed. All bids for this project are subject to the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 30, Section 39M as amended.
Bid Documents may be obtained from the Longmeadow Purchasing Department upon request. Bid documents may also be obtained online through the Purchasing Department page of the Town website, www.longmeadow.org , select ‘Bid & RFP’ link, then ‘Bid & RFP Finder’ to access documents online. Bidders should register with the Purchasing department or be responsible for monitoring the bid postings for updates and issued addenda. Failure to acknowledge the receipt of addenda may result in a bid rejection.
Sealed bids must have outer envelope marked as “IFB -Converse Street Sewer Improvement’, along with contact information of the bidder.All Bidders shall furnish with their Bid a bid guaranty in the form of a bid bond, cash or a certified check, treasurer’s check or cashier’s check issued by a responsible bank or trust company, in the amount of 5% of the total amount of the bid and made payable to the Town of Longmeadow, Massachusetts.
Performance and Labor and Materials Payment Bonds, in the full amount of the Contract Price, will be required of the Successful Bidder. No Bid may be withdrawn less than sixty (60) days after the date of the opening of bids. Minimum Wage Rates as determined by the Commissioner of Department of Workforce Development under the provision of the Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149, Sections 26 to 27H, as amended, apply to this project.
The Town of Longmeadow, acting through the Town Manager, the Awarding Authority reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive minor informalities, and to award the contract in the best interest of the Town. |
