INVITATION FOR BID
ADULT COMMUNITY CENTER CONSTRUCTION
TOWN OF LONGMEADOW, MASSACHUSETTS
The Town of Longmeadow, acting through the Town Manager, the Awarding Authority, invites sealed bids for the construction of the Longmeadow Adult Center at 231 Maple Road, Longmeadow, MA, a 26,333sq. ft., 2 story building, to serve the Town’s senior population, as described in the Drawings and Specifications prepared by Catlin + Petrovick Architects, PC.
SCOPE OF WORK: The work consists of site improvements, foundations, slabs-on-grade; steel framing,
metal deck with concrete, exterior and interior finishes; kitchen equipment; HVAC, fire protection,
plumbing, and electrical systems. The estimated cost of the work is $11,000,000 including alternates.
The time for completion is 420 calendar days from the date of Notice to Proceed. Work shall commence
on or about June 3, 2019 and shall be substantially completed on or before July 31, 2020.
Bidding procedures shall be in accordance with Massachusetts General Laws (M.G.L.) c.30 §39M and
M.G.L. c.149 §§44A through J. Bids are subject to prevailing wage rates as required by M.G.L. c.149
§§26 to 27H inclusive. All requirements and conditions of employment pertaining to publicly funded
projects in the Commonwealth shall be observed.
General Bidders shall be prequalified in accordance with M.G.L. c.149, §44D1/2 and must be certified by
the Massachusetts Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) for the General
Building Construction category and the dollar amount of this project. General Bidders must submit a
copy of DCAMM Certificate of Eligibility and DCAMM Form CQ3 update statement with their Bid Form.
THIS PROJECT IS BEING ELECTRONICALLY BID. HARD COPY BIDS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. ALL BIDDING IS ONLINE THROUGH www.BidDocsOnline.com for both the prequalified General Contractor bid, and the prequalified Filed Sub-Contractor Bid:
FILED SUB-BIDS: Sealed Bids for prequalified Filed Sub-Bids will be received through the project listing at www.biddocsonline.com until 1:00pm on Thursday, May 2, 2019, at which time they will be publicly opened on-line forthwith.
GENERAL BIDS: Sealed bids for prequalified General Bids will be received at www.biddocsonline.com until 1:00pm on Thursday, May 16, 2019, at which time they will be publicly opened on-line forthwith.
BID FORMS AND CONTRACT DOCUMENTS: Bid Forms and Bidding Documents will be available for
pick-up and for viewing on or after Wednesday April 10, 2019 at www.BidDocsOnline.com (maybe viewed electronically or a hardcopy can be requested) or at Nashoba Blue, Inc., 433 Main Street, Hudson, MA 01749, tel. (978) 568-1167.
An optional pre-bid walkthrough will take place on April 18, 2019 at 10am. Gather at the land construction site at 231 Maple Road, Longmeadow, MA 01106.
A five percent bid deposit made payable to the ‘Town of Longmeadow’ is required with all bid submissions as instructed in the in the Project Manual. 100% Performance and Payment Bond is required upon contract award as specified in the Project Manual.
