INVITATION TO BID (IFB)
FIRE STATION RECOATING OF APPARATUS FLOOR
The Town of Longmeadow is accepting sealed bids for the Longmeadow Fire Station Recoating of Apparatus Room Floor. Drawings and specifications prepared by Hill-Engineers, Architects, Planners, Inc., Dalton, MA. Sealed bids shall be delivered in an envelope labeled “IFB- Fire Station Recoating of Apparatus Floor", and should be delivered to the Town of Longmeadow, Purchasing Department, Attn: Chad Thompson, Procurement Manager, 735 Longmeadow Street, Suite 101, Longmeadow, MA 01106 (P 413-565-4185, cthompson@longmeadow.org ). Sealed bids will be accepted until the bid deadline of 11:00AM. on Thursday, April 4, 2019. Late bids will be rejected. A public bid opening will immediately follow in the auditorium of the same building.
IFB documents are available from the Purchasing Department during standard office hours: Monday through Thursday 8:00 A.M.-4:30 P.M. and 8:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. on Fridays. Bid documents may also be downloaded online through the Purchasing Department page of the town website: www.longmeadow.org . Select the link ‘Bids & RFPs’, then link: ‘Bid & RFP Finder’ to access documents online. Bidders that download documents online are encouraged to register with the Purchasing Department to receive updates. Others will be responsible to monitor the website prior to the bid deadline for additional information and issued addenda. Failure to acknowledge addenda may result in a bid rejection.
A MANDATORY pre-bid conference for General Contract work and site review will take place at the Longmeadow Fire Station, 44 Williams Street, Longmeadow, MA 01106. Gather in the Fire Station Conference room on Monday, March 25, 2019 at 11:00AM for the mandatory conference. Bids received from those that have not had a representative register during the mandatory pre-bid conference will be rejected.
Bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in an amount which is not less than five percent (5%) of the bid amount. Bid deposits shall be made payable to the ‘Town of Longmeadow’ in the form of a bid bond or a certified check, treasurer's check or cashier's check issued by a responsible bank or trust company. All bidders shall comply with minimum wage rates as set forth under the provisions of M.G.L., Chapter 149, Sections 26 to 27H inclusive and agree to provide statements of compliance as required. A 50% Payment Bond will be required of the successful contractor.
The Town of Longmeadow acting through the Town Manager, the Awarding Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive minor informalities, and award in the best interest of the Town. After proposals are opened, no bidder may withdraw the proposal for a period of thirty (30) days. |
