INVITATION TO BID (IFB)
COMMUNITY HOUSE ROOF AND BALUSTRADE REPLACEMENT
The Town of Longmeadow is accepting sealed bids for the re-bid of the Longmeadow Community House Roof and Balustrade Replacement. Drawings and specifications prepared by Hill-Engineers, Architects, Planners, Inc., Dalton, MA. Sealed bids shall be delivered or mailed in an envelope labeled “IFB Community House Roof and Balustrade Replacement", and should be delivered to the Town of Longmeadow, Purchasing Department, Attn: Chad Thompson, Procurement Manager, 735 Longmeadow Street, Suite 101, Longmeadow, MA 01106 (P 413-565-4185, cthompson@longmeadow.org ).
Sealed bids will be accepted until the bid deadline of 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 21, 2020. Late bids received after the bid deadline will be rejected. Since the procurement office is only open to the public for mail and delivery only, the public bid opening will be remote only facilitated through zoom.com beginning at 2:30PM on the day of the bid deadline.

IFB documents are available from the Purchasing Department upon request. Bid documents may also be downloaded online through the Purchasing Department page of the town website: www.longmeadow.org . Select the link ‘Bids & RFPs’, then link: ‘Bid & RFP Finder’ to access documents online. Bidders that download documents online are encouraged to register with the Purchasing Department to receive updates. Others will be responsible to monitor the website prior to the bid deadline for additional information and issued addenda. Failure to acknowledge addenda may result in a bid rejection.
A MANDATORY pre-bid conference for General Contract work will take place at 735 Longmeadow Street, Longmeadow, MA 01106. Gather at the front of the building on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at 10:30AM for the mandatory conference. Bids received from those that have not had a representative register during the mandatory pre-bid conference will be rejected. Those that registered on the sign in sheet at the March 25, 2019 original mandatory pre-bid conference for the same project are automatically registered for the re-bid mandatory conference and are not required to attend the re-bid mandatory pre-bid conference (See Appendix A for the list of registered pre-bid conference attendees).
General Bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in an amount which is not less than five percent (5%) of the bid amount. Bid deposits shall be made payable to the ‘Town of Longmeadow’ in the form of a bid bond or a certified check, treasurer's check or cashier's check issued by a responsible bank or trust company. All bidders shall comply with minimum wage rates as set forth under the provisions of M.G.L., Chapter 149, Sections 26 to 27H inclusive and agree to provide statements of compliance as required. A 100% Performance and Payment Bond will be required of the successful contractor. The Town of Longmeadow acting through the Town Manager, the Awarding Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive minor informalities, and award in the best interest of the Town. After proposals are opened, no bidder may withdraw the proposal for a period of thirty (30) days. |
