ADVERTISEMENT FOR BID
Sealed proposals addressed to the City Secretary of the City of Sachse will be received until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, the 6th of August, 2009 at the City Council Chambers, City of Sachse, 5560 Highway 78, Sachse, Texas 75048. All proposals will be publicly opened and read aloud for the following:
5th Street / DeWitt Road Improvements Project
Bid Schedule No. 1 for Paving & Drainage Improvements includes approximately 13,284 C.Y. of Unclassified Street Excavation, 16,107 S.Y. of Cement Stabilized Subgrade, 15,241 S.Y. of 8" Reinforced Concrete Pavement, 1,255 S.Y. of Reinforced Concrete Sidewalk, 2,859 L.F. of 18" through 48" Reinforced Concrete Storm Sewer Pipe, 90 L.F. of (3) 8'x5' Reinforced Concrete Box Culverts with Modified Parallel Wingwalls and miscellaneous work and related appurtenances.
Bid Schedule No. 2 for a 12-Inch Waterline includes approximately 1,843 L.F. of 12" PVC Waterline, 527 L.F. of 8" PVC Waterline, 241 L.F. of 6" Waterline and miscellaneous work and related fittings and appurtenances.
Bid Schedule No. 3 for an 8-Inch Sanitary Sewer includes approximately 1,712 L.F. of 8" PVC Sanitary Sewer, 196 L.F. of 6" PVC Sanitary Sewer and miscellaneous work and related appurtenances.
All bids shall be accompanied by an acceptable bond or cashier's check in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid. The bid guaranty is required by the Owner as evidence of good faith and as a guarantee that if awarded the contract, the bidder shall execute the contract and furnish the required bonds and evidence of insurance within ten (10) days after receipt of the awarded contract.
Plans and bid specifications are available at Birkhoff, Hendricks & Conway L.L.P., Professional Engineers, Texas Firm 526, 11910 Greenville Avenue, Suite 600, Dallas, Texas 75243, phone 214.361.7900 for a non-refundable payment of $70.00 (11"x17" plans) per each. Full-size sets of plans may be obtained for a non-refundable payment of $130.00 (22"x34") per each. Bid envelopes shall be sealed and marked with "5th Street / DeWitt Road Improvements" on the outside of the envelope. The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive all formalities. In case of ambiguity or lack of clearness in stating the price in the proposal, the City reserves the right to consider the most advantageous construction thereof, or reject the proposal. A non-mandatory bidders' conference is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 30, 2009 at the City Council Chambers of City Hall.
