The City of Sachse, Texas and Dallas County Public Works Department (Community Development Block Grant Program) Grant No. B-09-UC-480003 will receive bids at the City of Sachse, Office of Mr. Allen L. Barnes, City Manager, 5560 Highway 78, Sachse, Texas, 75048 until 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 11, 2010. The envelope must be sealed and clearly marked:

"SEALED BID FOR ASPHALT PAVING REHABILITATION, FOURTH AND FLOYD STREETS"

(in the lower left hand corner). Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at City Hall, 5560 Highway 78, Sachse, Texas, 75048 on Friday, June 11, 2010 at 2:00 p.m., for the following project:

ASPHALT PAVING REHABILITATION: FOURTH AND FLOYD STREETS

Instructions to Bidders, Proposal Forms, Specifications, Plans and Contract Documents, etc., may be examined without charge, at the office of the City Manager, City of Sachse, Texas, 5560 Highway 78, Sachse, Texas, 75048 or may be obtained at Cobb Fendley & Associates, 6801 Gaylord Parkway, Suite 302, Frisco, Texas, 75034 for a fee of Seventy Five Dollars ($75.00) non-refundable. Payment shall be made to Cobb Fendley & Associates.

A bid bond in the amount of 5 percent of the bid issued by an acceptable surety shall be submitted with each bid. A certified check or bank draft payable to the City of Sachse, Texas or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (as par value) may be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond.

The successful bidder must furnish performance and payment bonds each in the amount of 100 percent (100%) of the contract price from an approved Surety Company holding a permit from the State of Texas, to act as Surety.

Attention is called to the fact that not less than the federally determined prevailing (Davis-Bacon and Related Acts) wage rate as issued by the office of Community Development Block Grant Program and contained in the contract documents, must be paid on this project. In addition, the successful bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex, age, or national origin.

The City of Sachse, Texas reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. Bids may be held by the City of Sachse, Texas for a period not to exceed 60 days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of receiving bids and investigating the bidder's qualifications prior to the contract award.
