Description: A. PURPOSE OF THIS REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
The County of Eddy, on behalf of the Detention Center, seeks sealed proposals from qualified companies that can do business in the State of New Mexico to provide Pharmaceutical Services to detainees.
B. BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The Eddy County Detention Center provides pharmaceutical services for incarcerated individuals. A licensed Pharmacist/Pharmacy is needed for this service to work in coordination with Eddy County Detention Center (hereafter “County” or Agency”) nurses, contracted nurses, the contracted Medical Director (TBD) and Health Services Administrator to ensure detainees have proper access to medications as prescribed. It is important to note at this time Eddy County is in various stages of the RFP process for Medical Direction and Nursing services for the Detention Center.
C. SCOPE OF PROCUREMENT
Licensed Pharmacy will provide all pharmaceuticals for Eddy County Detention Center Detainees, seven (7) days a week for the life of this agreement.
Pharmacy will provide pharmaceuticals, as need and in emergency cases, and will be available/reachable after hours and during non-work hours (on-call available); this will include availability for answering questions Agency medical personnel have during working and non-working hours.
Pharmacy will work in coordination with contracted Agency Medical Director, the Medical Department and Administrative staff.
Pharmacy will provide detailed detainee monthly billing to include, but not be limited to, medication names and dosages for all detainees with prescribed medications.
Pharmacy will complete quarterly inspections per state board of pharmacy regulations and standards for the Agency.
Pharmacy will deliver all medications to Agency five (5) days a week (M-F) and as needed in emergency situations or for abrupt medication changes.
The term of this contract shall be for one (1) year. The County reserves the right to extend this contract, on an annual basis (or any portion thereof) and by mutual agreement, for up to three (3) additional years. Under no circumstances will the term of this contract, including any extensions thereto, exceed four (4) years. This procurement will result in a single source award.
